At the beginning of this course I was excited about taking a new direction in my life. I was a little unsure on what to expect but eager to begin. The several Engaged Learning Indicators that were presented throughout the course were at first, a lot to take in, along with the identification of the six different LoTi Levels. After viewing and analyzing several videos, I gained a clear understanding of them. I discovered that technology is not just the use of machines but an extended notion of the project. Observing indicators such as authenticity, meaningful, and challenging, in classroom environments, allows students to develop a sense of ownership. Students play the role of an explorer, teacher, and producers, all while co-learning with teachers and collaborating with other peers. Projects range from all grades and subjects and can be an ongoing, performance based, generative assessment.
I really enjoyed creating my Engaged Learning Project! I learned when planning a lesson that includes a form of technology, the skies are the limits. I was able to create a lesson that fully engaged my students while providing them with independent skills as young learners.
